Terms of Enrollment

1. Our commitment to your child
Lakeside Preschool provides a loving, Christ-centered environment where children grow in faith, character, and a lifelong love of learning. We commit to supervising and caring for your child attentively, communicating with you openly, and partnering with your family throughout the year.
2. The normal bumps of childhood
Preschoolers run, climb, play, and explore — it's how they learn. Even with attentive supervision, minor injuries such as bumps, bruises, scrapes, and scratches are a normal part of an active childhood and can happen during ordinary play. By enrolling, you acknowledge and accept that these minor incidents are an expected part of preschool life. We will always comfort your child and treat minor injuries with basic first aid, and we will tell you about anything beyond the trivial at pickup or sooner.
3. When something more serious happens
If your child is injured in a way that appears to need more than basic first aid, we will contact you (or your emergency contacts if we can't reach you) promptly. In an emergency, we will act first — including calling 911 or seeking medical care under the emergency medical consent you provide at enrollment — and reach you as fast as we can. Costs of emergency medical care are the family's responsibility.
4. Illness
To protect all of our families, children who are ill (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or a contagious condition) must stay home and may return once symptom-free for 24 hours without medication. If your child becomes ill during the day, we will call you for early pickup.
5. Immunization requirement
A current Georgia Preschool/Child Care Immunization Certificate must be on file with the school before your child's first day, and your child cannot attend without it. Certificates are available from the Health Department or your child's pediatrician. Georgia law also provides for medical exemptions (physician's statement) and religious exemptions (notarized affidavit); if you request an exemption, you may still complete and submit the enrollment form, but an exemption may affect enrollment and final approval rests with the director as part of class placement.
6. Tuition
Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month. Payments made after the posted grace day (currently the 5th) incur a late fee for each day the payment is late, through the 15th. If full tuition plus accrued late fees has not been received by the 15th, the school reserves the right to withdraw the student. Tuition is not prorated and no refunds or credits are given for absences, illness, vacations, or holidays — five-week months make up for time missed for holidays. Enrolled students are charged whether or not they attend, including if you choose to start later in a month; you cannot skip a month's tuition and re-enroll the following month. Any exception must be requested in writing to the director. A $35 charge applies to payments returned for insufficient funds. All tuition and fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
7. Registration and annual fees
A non-refundable registration fee plus the first month's tuition is due at enrollment and holds your child's spot for the school year; it is forfeited if your child never starts or does not return. An annual supply fee applies each school year (payable in full in August or in two installments due with September and January tuition), and a yearly snack fee is due at open house. Current amounts are published in the registration letter. These fees are due whether or not your child attends the first day, and are non-refundable and non-transferable.
8. Attendance days and activities
Teachers plan most projects and special activities for the days when the most children attend. If an activity falls on a day your child is not enrolled to attend, we cannot switch days or add extra children for that day.
9. Pickup times and late pickup
Children must be picked up by the end of their scheduled day (1:15 pm, or 2:00 pm for Extended Day). Please call the school if you are running late. Late pickups are charged $1 per minute; a second late pickup within three months is charged $5 per minute, and a third within three months $10 per minute.
10. Withdrawal
You may withdraw your child by giving two weeks' written notice. You remain responsible for the month's tuition if your child is withdrawn after the 1st or without the two-week notice, and any balance must be paid in full before a child can return. The school may permanently withdraw a child, with written notice, when it is in the best interest of the child or the program — including for non-payment of tuition and fees, needs the program cannot meet, repeated aggressive behavior, non-compliance with school policies or state regulations, or parent/guardian conduct such as derogatory public or social-media remarks about the school, church, or staff, profanity or belligerence toward staff, or physical or verbal aggression on the premises.
11. Drop-off and pickup authorization
Children will only be released to parents/guardians and the people you list as authorized pickups (photo ID may be requested). Please keep your pickup list and phone numbers current in the parent portal.
12. Your information
You agree to keep your contact, emergency contact, and medical information up to date, and to tell us promptly about changes that affect your child's care (allergies, medications, custody arrangements, etc.).
13. Photos
We only use your child's photo in school communications or materials if you opt in to the photo release on the enrollment form. You can change that choice at any time.
14. Working together
If concerns arise, we will always try to work things out with you first. We're a small school and a ministry — open, early conversations solve most problems.
15. Agreement
By checking the Terms of Enrollment box on the enrollment form, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms on behalf of your child, and that you will abide by the rules and regulations of Lakeside Preschool. These terms work alongside (not instead of) the current year's registration letter.
